You can start training at any age but you need to be at least 16 years old to be able to solo and at least 17 years old to get your license. We recommend students start training no younger than 15. Once we get to a certain point in the curriculum, a student may start repeating lessons while they wait to turn 16. We suggest a young teenager start with a Discovery flight, then every few months have a flight lesson to keep their interest up. Then the closer they get to 16, start increasing the frequency between lessons.

Sport Pilot FAQ'sVA FAQ's
At this time we are not a VA approved school. The VA will not cover any training whatsoever going to either a sport or private license as they consider this a hobby license. They will however, cover any licenses above private such as instrument, commercial, etc. depending on the amount of benefits you have.
